Tart Cherry Lemonade Over Crushed Ice

When you are in the mood for a fun, pretty and refreshing beverage this one hits the spot, and using crushed ice is like "the cherry on top". Crushed Ice, in the summer, is fun to make and makes all drinks so refreshing! This Tart Cherry Lemonade over crushed ice is batched with agave, lemons, cherries, water and a mint sprig garnish.  

The best way to make crushed ice is with a Summer Bartender Kit, (paid link) however if you don't have one on hand, you can blend the ice in a blender.  

this recipe serves 2

INGREDIENTS

  • 9 pitted cherries
  • lemon juice from 2 large or 4 small, fresh squeezed lemons
  • 5 tbsp agave (add more if you like it sweeter)
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup ice for shaking 
  • 3 cups of crushed ice for serving
  • mint spring for garnish (optional)

METHOD

  1. Place crushed ice into serving cups.  
  2. Place the cherries and lemon juice into a cocktail shaker and muddle the cherries until the liquid is bright pink. 
  3. Add shaking ice, agave and water to the cocktail shaker.
  4. Shake well and strain over crushed ice.  Add straw, and mint sprig (optional).
