Freezer Favorites

Freezer Favorites

This week I wanted to share some items on hand in my freezer this summer. When we need to keep things simple, having some freezer favorites, that you know are good quality, helps a lot during a busy week.

Monday nights are Pizza nights at our house. I alternate between almond flour crust pizza and regular pizza crust.  To make it simple I found a few store bought options. Capello's Almond Flour Naked Pizza Crust is the almond flour crust we use so I keep a few boxes on hand.

Otto Pizza Dough Ball is stored in the freezer and should be taken out 24 hours before you cook, to defrost in the refrigerator. The quality is on point! when you stretch the dough well, it really makes a beautiful thin crust pizza.  There is a link to their online instructions on the bag.

When we lived in the city we were close to one of the original Van Leeuwen locations in the West Village. We went often. The store is going to go down in history as one of the best ice cream spots in Manhattan. After we moved to Maplewood, we were so excited to hear they just opened in the town next door! A little bit of our city life moved here with us! Anyway, I have always kept a Van Leeuwen Vanilla Bean Ice Cream in our freezer for impromptu ice cream nights at home.

I have a country house, since I was a little girl, in Massachusetts. We love going to the local co-op market there.  They are always faster than Whole Foods to pick up on products that are amazing. (also the produce there is unlike anything available here, it's local, organic and so fresh) Anyway, I found the best simple summertime dessert there, Alden's Organic Ice Cream Sandwiches and I find them irresistible!

I have always made PB & J on Dave's Organic Breads.  My son will only eat it on this bread now, which is a great thing because it has a lot of health benefits with flax, sunflower, oats, quinoa and whole wheat.  When cooking something fancy I usually use a fresh baked bread, but I keep this Dave's Organic Good Seed Bread on hand in the freezer for Peanut Butter and Jelly and sometimes, simple buttered toast.

I have enjoyed this Organic Pie Crust to create simple desserts and also quiche. I love that it is organic and has a quality taste.  Friends and family may think its homemade!

I hope your mid- August is filled with peace, fun, adventure and wonderful evenings with people you love, maybe eating pizza & ice cream! Yum & yum!

All the Best, Always,

Nikole
